Organic cotton is grown without the use of chemical fertilisers and is healthier for the environment. The reduced processing of the cotton also results in a longer-staple, higher quality cotton that is softer on your skin.
Included in the organic certification are standards that ensure the welfare of those involved in the farming and production of the clothing, so that you can be assured that nobody has been exploited along the way.
You will feel the difference in quality when you touch organic cotton - it's something that gives us pleasure to handle here at Cambridge Baby, and you know that it's safe for your baby and gentle and nurturing for your family.
A small amount of shrinkage may occur in the first couple of washes, but the clothes are made slightly bigger to accommodate this. Air dry, and re-shape while damp if necessary.
To help all your clothes last longer, always air dry rather than tumble dry.
To reduce calcium build-up which can contribute to a hardening of your clothing, add a little vinegar to your rinse cycle.
Silk is excellent for the skin - it's gentle, insulating and breathable and has been used for generations and across cultures as the ideal next-to-the-skin layer and Alkena's organic mulberry silk is simply the best. Moreover, the poppers used by Alkena are nickel-free! Find out more about Alkena and its impact on the region where the silk is grown, read our Alkena blog post.
"I have worn a vest every day of the year all my life (I am 66 years old). I can honestly say this is the best one I have had. You hardly ever need to wash pure fabrics, so this is perfect and something I love. It's very comfortable, you don't know it's on! Simply perfect."
This was washed... Very seldom washed, as with all natural fabrics.
This was worn by... Me
Sizing: A little generous
I'd recommend this to a friend.
