"I thought the wool terry material was gorgeous: nicely squishy but not too thick, and not particularly scratchy for wool. My 4yo on the other hand, who's very quick to call anything scratchy, wouldn't contemplate them. You win some/you lose some. For a less fussy child, they'd be super."

"I found these ones great alongside the Engel bodysuits with poppers. These come up a little smaller than the Engel ones so they work as stepping stones in between sizes - and in fact the newborn size is one of the few products that was small enough for my second baby, who was under 6lb/2.7kg at birth, in those early weeks. They are also rather thicker than the Engel one, so nice for the really cold part of the winter. I wash them very carefully (cool wool cycle in the machine) as they look to me like they would shrink in a minute if given the chance."

"My daughter wears one most of the time, day and night, during the winter. They don't need washing terribly often, so we find that 3 is enough to get by. I usually wash on a wool cycle, but on occasion my husband sticks them in a regular wash at 40 and they have mostly survived so far - one did get a little felted."
