This silk is "bourette" silk which is a spun silk. It does not have the silky-smooth shiny quality of filament silk (we also have filament silk clothes for your family). Bourette silk has a more "earthy" feel and texture, often described as rustic with a subtle sheen. After the finest silk is harvested, the bits that remain are collected, combed and spun together into the Bourette silk fibre. Bourette silk is often used for women's clothes and baby clothes, as it has a lovely texture and is good for the skin.
When needed, hand wash your silk at no higher than 10C. A PH-neutral detergent designed to protect silk's natural oils. We recommend one of our liquid wool shampoos in our fabric care section here.
Air dry naturally out of direct sunlight. Don't tumble-dry but squeeze out excess water by wrapping your silk garment in a towel, and hang to dry.
"This was the first thing that I bought from Cambridge baby when my second child was suffering from terrible nappy rash. I didn't know it at the time but she had a severe milk allergy that made her skin prone to eczema and her bowel movements like liquid acid. I was beside myself. Disposable nappies drew moisture out of her skin making the problem worse and washable nappies were a nightmare as she never had a solid bowel movement. I bounced between the two and felt miserable every time she had a flare up. I bought these and used them every time she was sore. They were excellent. They had to be washed carefully and they did stain over time. If your baby never suffers from nappy rash then be grateful. Parenting is hard enough without other people making you feel bad just because they had it easy."
This was washed... had to be careful
This was worn by... my middle child.
Sizing: Feels true to size
I'd recommend this to a friend.
"I used these on my second child. I wanted to use washable nappys for the sake of the environment. An undiagnosed milk allergy made her poo like liquid acid so it was a constant battle. Her skin is so sensitive even now and back then she suffered badly from eczema. Nappy rash was so hard to get rid of once it started. These were my saviour and hers and were used every flare up. Used to rags even. Wash carefully and they do stain over time"

"I actually found cambridge baby through a google search for these exact liners. My first child was in disposable nappies but I thought I would do my best to keep my second in washable ones. Sadly she had a milk allergy which caused her to projectile vomit feeds and have acidic liquid poo. It took ages to diagnose and I was beside myself as she also had severe eczema so her skin was incredibly sensitive. During teething it was at its worst and the only thing that brought her beautiful skin back was these liners. Used them in flare ups not every day. Wash carefully and they do stain over time."

"Never used in three years since purchasing as none of two babies had ever nappy rash."
